EVENT: The 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament

[Phazon]

OOC: I know this begins simetaneously as the other Event ends, but this will help feel the game move smoother. Once everyone leaves Korin's Tower, I'll close the topic. Once you leave the tower, and if you were heading towards the Tournament, post here. Notice, winning the tournament WILL net you money, but I would have to guess that the only person whos gonna be doing the winning is Goku O.o. Lets begin.

IC: Its a beautiful afternoon, the sun is shining and the wind is blowing ever so pleasantly. This quaint island in the middle of nowhere is now teeming with life as people from all over the world gather to take part in the Martial Arts Tournament. People are now stronger than ever, and in an attempt to have fun, win money, or prove your strength, people are fighting for what they believe in. It seems hundreds of people have come to witness the tournament, but only about thirty have actually come to take place.

Its a relitivley small building in the center, that in the middle has the Ring in which fighters duke it out to show who is the toughest of the tough. In the front of the building however, is the sign up booth. Here, the fighters enter their names and then they are put into the Qualifiers. So far, Twenty Six People have signed up and they're all standing around to wait for the sign ups to end. The Sign ups only have about an hour or so (game time) until it ends. Who else will sign up for the tournament?

Among those who are waiting are the legendary fighters Goku, Tien-Shinon and Krillin. Standing opposite, oblivious to anything is the evil Cyborg Tao. Also, another figure of even greater evil and importance is Piccolo, standing in the shadows, unknown to everyone except for the sign up people of course, and he is entering the tournament under the guise of Majunior.


Phazon arrives in a rush, landing from flight with aura still shining among him. People who are around him awe in shock, due to the sheer astounding that someone was actually flying. Phazon looked around and waved for no apparant reason and continued to the sign up booth, which convienently had a sign above it. The man holding a pen in monk clothes looked at Phazon and gulped.

"I wanna take place in this tournament! My good man." Phazon exclaimed with his finger pointing toward the sky. The man continued to stare at him for a brief while and finally said, "Okay... Name?"

"Phazon Frost." Phazon said with a grin on his face. "Okay. Please wait over there with the other contestants while we wait about another hour for the qualifiers."

Phazon sighed and did as instructed. He began walking towards where the other fighters were. He picked a nice place in the middle that recieved some good sun and he sat down and then looked into the sky, and doing nothing but that.

Tori arrived at the arena. When she landed, she saw the contestants and others look at her with awe. She went to the sign up table and as she walked over, the male that sat at the table stared at her, blushing.

"I'm here to enter the tournament. Where do I sign?" Tori bent down to look at the sign-up sheet. The gentleman could'nt help but turn a bright red.

"Uhm... I just need to know your name ma'm... and I'll take care of the rest, heh." Tori could'nt help but smile as she saw his reaction.

"My name is Tori Nakamura."

"Okay. Go on ahead and... sit with the other contestants." Tori grinned when she saw the man dab a cloth on his head.

"Thank you so much." Tori walked over to the contestants and saw a tall man with spikey black hair and an orange outfit. She guessed this to be Goku. She walked by him only to give him an evil glare and slanted on the wall as she waited for the others.

[Overlord Darts]

Darts lands a bit off from the arena, where no one would see. He conceals his wings, and walks into the crowd. He pushes his way thought it, to the sign up area.

Darts: "I would like to join in the tournament."

Man: "You sure? Alright, all I need is your name."

Darts: "Darts Konkore."

Man: "Alright, please join the other fighters."

Darts: "Thank you."

Darts joins the others, but stays to the side.

Naran soon lands onto the grounds of the arena. She walks in cautiously, heading towards the signup booth. A few people give her odd stares, most likely looking at her large third eye protruding from her chest. She puts a hand over it, self consciously and goes up to the man at the booth.

"Excuse me...I'd like to sign up for the tournament please." She says, addressing the man. He looks up "Alright then! Your name--" He stops short, eyeing Naran's other eye, slightly bending over the table. Naran covers her chest a bit, her cheeks a bit red with annoyance and slight embarrassment. "Could you please not look at me that way?? I've had enough wierd stares already." The man moves back, nodding apologeticlly. "O-oh! Sorry miss. But not many women like you turn up for tournaments like these. You have to keep your eye out for such people." He says. Naran rolls her eyes, obviously not interested in what he had to say. "Erm, anyways, Name please." he says, breaking the akwardness. "Naran Archfiend." She says in a slight monotone voice. The man jots down her name and nods. "Alright then, wait with the other contestants." Naran sighs and walks over to the other contestants. She sits down in the uncrowded area of the lobby, trying not to attract any more attention than she had.

Tori saw that the Faran and Darts had finally arrived. She also looked into the sunlit area where Phazon sat. She smirked.

"hmmm... more competion I guess. I can'nt lose to this challenge. I have to get to Goku. He's the one I was supposed to hunt down all along." She looked to where Goku was standing." He looks strong, but very idiotic at the same time." Tori kept an eye on Goku and made sure to watch the other Z-Fighters. She did'nt want them to suspect anything.

[Phazon]

Goku, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Master Roshi all stood in the same place on this bright sunlit day. Goku was looking happy and stupid as per usual, and Krillin looked as short and bald as ever. Yamcha and Tien stood idly by remenissing about the good old days, and Master Roshi talked about random useless old guy stuff.

"Woo! Can't WAIT for this tournament!" Goku exclaimed with his arms in the air. "Yeah, but dont forget that you gotta get married too Goku," Krillin said.

"Oh yea... I wonder what that tastes like!" Goku said. Everybody fell down, just like those anime people do for some reason. Upon getting back up, they spotted a very irritable looking woman coming down with a white dress and flowers. She didnt look happy.

"GOKU!" she said. "Chi-chi?!" Goku said, almost crying, "Whats up?"

"WHERES YOUR TUXEDO?!" She yelled, up in his face now and teeth baring.

Phazon, upon overhearing the argument stood up and directed his "ears" to the conversation.

"Uhh... For what?" Goku said.

"THE MARRIAGE!" Chi-Chi was obviously steaming now, and one could say she was going through some kind of premenstural stage.

"We need tuxedos to eat?" Goku said, and everybody fell down again.

Krillin walked over to Goku and put a hand on his shoulder. "Listen here, Marriage is when two people in love declare their lives for eachother, you know, like boyfriend and girlfriend except forever."

"Ohhh..." said Goku. "That doesn't sound nice." Everyone fell down a third time.

Phazon leaned to the left a little, confused.

Tien noticed the changeling looking at them and instantly informed his friends: "Heads up guys, look at that guy over there." Everyone turned to look at Phazon. Upon being noticed, he jumped a bit. "Uh... Whats going on? Hehe!"

Everybody narrowed their eyes pretty much except for Goku, who was eager to meet a new person. "Hey there! Whats your name!" He said, and Krillin smacked him in the arm. "Hey... whats that for?" Phazon began to walk over. "Phazon... You guys are in the tournament too?" He said, looking around.

"Yeah," Goku said. Upon hearing relaxing words, everybody toned down a bit. Krillin spoke up, "Whew, I thought you might be a bad guy." Phazon shook his head a bit. "Nah. Just wanna fight." Then Tien said, "Hey, this guys just like Goku, stupid and loves to fight."

"Hey!" Goku and Phazon said simutaneously. They looked at each other while everybody chuckled a bit. "So, you definitley don't look human, whats your story," Yamcha spoke up. Phazon began to introduce himself, telling his whole story.

[Overlord Darts]

Darts sees Phazon talking to Goku and the other group. He sizes them all up, looking especially at Goku.

Darts: They all seem like nice people... good people... Allies maybe... Powerful....

Darts shakes his head.

Darts: Can't think like that.

He sits down in the corner, and watches all the contestants. Mostly though, he spies on Goku and them.

Darts: So many fighters... Their spirit is palpable.... I wonder what this will be like....

Darts shakes his head again.

Darts: I have to keep my focus, now that I've gotten the training needed, I can move on, and become more powerful... then one day, I'll be able to help all who are pure, instead of just hurting everyone.

A small portal appears behind the bushes at the gate of the World Martial Arts Tournament and drops that guy on his face. with blood on his face he looks up and says "WOW, this place ROCKS!!!! i cant wait to show all these people the power of the main character, WOOT!!!!" standing up he sees his opponents and with his smile flipped to a frown he cries " IM GUNNA GET MY BUTT KICKED, AH POOP!!!!" that guy with his head hung low walked up the the registration counter and asked if he could join......the man looked at him with a funny look on his face and said..."That Guy?...." that guy yelled at the man "YES, THAT GUY" then he grabs a form and signs up yelling "ILL SHOW YOU!!!". angry That Guy storms off with his name on the list...then saw a shiny coin....he was no longer angry.

[Phazon]

With That Guy finally finishing his papers, the monks all turned and nodded in agreement.

One of the guys, obviously the leader stood up and talked to the guy with the yellow hair and black glasses. The yellow hair and moustache man stood in front of all of the participants.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Finally, the World's 23rd Martial Arts Tournament begins! We have 30 People here, a new record! So, we're gonna have to cut off the rest of the people. Now, take a look to my left: This punchingbag machine! If you punch it, it will measure your strength! However, only Twelve of you will make it to the Finals. Everyone will punch the machine, and the top twelve will make it to the TOURNAMENT!"

Everyone cheered as the Machine was brought out. People lined up, and the first eighteen people went (useless people.) Everyone scored at least a 50 or under. Next, Cyborg Tao was up, and he stepped up to the machine eagerly.

"Muaha." Quickly he jabbed the machine, and a 68 popped out on the screen.

"My goodness! A record of 68! Who can top that number?"

Next up was Krillin, and with a quick whack a 76 came out on the screen.

"Whuh..." Cyborg Tao quickly recognized Goku and the others and quickly shit his pants. Next up was Tien Shinhan. 84. Goku came up next. 90. Yamcha came up next. 78. Next, was a little old man whos name was Shen. He accidentally fell on the machine, and a 51 came up. He made it into the finals. Then, it happened.

A green figure with a turban and cape came out of the shadows, with a malicious grin on his face.

Goku and friends quickly shook in fear as they recognized this new foe.

Piccolo.

With one fell swoop, he smacked the machine silly. 100. He then walked over to Goku, laughed in his face and walked off. It was up to the remaining 5 heroes to score over 50 to get into the Tournament.




First up was Phazon, and he was eager to go. He looked the machine up and down and then placed his fist on the machine's punching bag. The monks looked at him confused, but finally his right shoulder muscle pulsed with a huge energy ball, and it traveled down his arm until it was unleashed down his fist. The machine jumped up and fell down a little, and a 88 came up on the screen.

"Heh," Phazon said, quite content with him self and finally joined with the Z-Fighters, who were still in mortified shock. "Whats up?"

Goku was first to answer. "Piccolo."

"Whos that," Said Phazon. "Hes pure evil. Hes some alien race who came to kill us all, thats for sure," Krillin quickly replied.

"Not good," Phazon said.

That Guy walks up and acts all full of himself and says "well well well, you guys all are lame, watch and be amazed at my amazing strength" after his boast that guy rears back and punches the machine with all he had...the machine did not budge...and that guys face went from a cocky grin to a frown, his face turns red....he slowly looks up at the number he got...it was a 54...."...HA SEE, I TOLD YOU I WAS AMAZING" and with that, he walked back into the crowd of people.

[Overlord Darts]

It was Darts's turn. He took his hand, and bowled it into a fist. He reered back his fist, and bashed the machine.

...

After a few seconds, the number "79" came up.

Darts: Hm... maybe I held back some....

Darts walks back into the group of fighters.

that guy watching darts hit the machine made him realize that...he was hungry and wanted something to eat...but instead said "HEY NO FAIR, YOU ALL CHEATED OFF MY PUNCH, NOT FAIR NOT FAAAAAIR" he sits down and pulls out a flounder...and said"you wont cheat off my punch will you little fish buddy...." then he puts the fish back into his pocket for later conferencing.

Naran was up next. She exhaled slowly, focusing on the punchingbag machine. "I just need to score over 50...I have to! I need to get into this tournament and test my strength!" she thought furiously. She focused her energy, her hand clenched into a fist. She swings at the machine, hitting it with all the might she had focused into the punch. A few moments later, came the number 69.
Naran breathed a slight sigh of relief and moved back in with the crowd of other fighters.

[Phazon]

As the punching bag thing went on, all of those who were already justified a spot in the final twelve were escorted to the waiting room inside the actual building of the Martial Arts Tournament. It was a large room with a huge square table in the middle with bundreds among hundreds of food, nearby was a small ring for practicing sparring, and some monks walking around for help on the rules or the like. Outside was the ring itself, and at least 500 people surrounding it in the stands waiting for a show to begin.

There was a board that showed the Match's fights and the like, also, a box with many numbers, so that people drew numbers showing who they fought and when.

Goku and his friends were the first to arrive, and Goku eagerly began to munch on the foods. The rest of the Z-Fighters waited around, so anybody could approach them with questions or such.

Phazon joined Goku, and they both began to chow down like pigs.

That Guy walks around the room looking at allllll the people...he then wonders who he will fight...but then didnt care and sat near goku and Phazon and started pigging out. "OMG THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!!"he looks at both Phazon and Goku and grabs both of thier hands and said "hiya im that guy, who are yall, you look strong, are you, are you gunna fight me, are you gunna finish that" he then takes the food out of thier hands and shoves it into his mouth.

[Overlord Darts]

Darts walks in, and watches the other begin getting ready. Having not eaten in a while, decides to snatch something from the food table first. He sees the strange man from before, stealing the food from Phazon and the orange clothed warrior. After taking some food, he rests in a corner. In the corner of his eye, he sees the other Z warriors.

Darts: "I doubt talking to them will be any good. I'll wait...

Darts begins to eat what he had snagged.

[Phazon]

Goku was the first to react to the food stealing bonanza.

"Hey! Gimme that back!" He reaches inside That Guy's mouth and shoves the food down his again. "By the way, I'm goku," he said, his mouth stuffed with random food.

Phazon looked over at Darts, who just stole his food and growled. He whipped his tail around and extended it, grabbing a small portion back and then shoving it in his mouth. He then spit his toung out. Ppppphtttt. Then he went back to snarfing.

Krillin was not amused.

Naran looks around at the fighters, a bit overwhelmed, but kept her composure. She figured she'd go get something to eat first, heading toward the table with food. But upon seeing a group of men pigging out at the table, she grimaced and turned around. "Maybe I'll wait...I hate it when people just shovel food in their mouths like that." She things, shuddering. She sits close by, waiting for the others to finish so she can get something herself.

a few second after darts food was snatched, that guy was gone from the table....
his head slowly poked up behind darts and he whispered"...heeeey....im that guy...who are yooooouuu..."
a grin slowly went over his face, waiting for the answer in anticipation.

[Overlord Darts]

Darts replies, in a bit of a dark tone.

Darts: "Darts Konkore..."

Darts turns to Phazon.

Darts: "And you could have just said something."

Darts takes what small portion he has, and walks away, to the opposite side of the room, a bit offended.

Darts: "Maybe I should keep a closer eye on them all..."

He sits down, and watches, judging everyone's character bit by bit.

[Phazon]

Phazon looks up, mouth still full of random crap, and quite possibly a fork.

"Listen Darts, you dont have to be such a loner, we're all havin fun."

Goku perks up. "Darts huh, I'm Goku!"

Goku goes back to eating.

taking phazons food again that guy says "yeah darts, just kick back and dont hurt me...i mean, hang out with us" this was said with the biggest grin.

[Phazon]

Phazon, once again having food stolen from him, bangs the table with both fists. Being the immature baby he is, his mechanical body lungs fill with air, as he inhales extremely much, and nearly three quarters of the food is sucked into his stomach. However, he inhales Krillin in the process and after gagging, he starts screaming at full power right upwards. Chunks of food and one Krillin are shot upwards and downwards, like a fountain of random foodstuffs. Everyone is covered. Then Phazon stops and looks forward.

"Oops."

All of the food is gone, except for the chunky stuff that was once food before.

"Uh... I... gotta pee." Phazon runs into the womens bathroom by mistake, gets kicked out, and then runs into the male bathroom.

[Overlord Darts]

Darts is silent in watching, then moves over to where Goku is when Phazon leaves. He speaks.

Darts: "It's a pleasure to meet you Goku, you've quite the reputation as a grand fighter. It is an honor. I am interested in seeing you in action."

Darts bows.

Darts: I apologize for my initial cold attitude. I am wary on people I do not know.

Naran makes an expression of disgust and slight dissappointment. "Aughh.....men are so disgusting sometimes...Especially that Phazon person." She says to herself as he leaves for the bathroom. She makes a slight whining noise too, huddling up her legs, hugging them. "I wanted something to eat too..."
